I'll skip breakfast today because I binged last night...Oh shoot someone brought donuts to the office...there's no way I can have one, then I'll eat them all! Ok ok I'll have one because I brought a salad for lunch today. I'll pick the croutons out so I don't feel so guilty. Oh my god it's only 3pm and I'm starving! Maybe I'll just drink a glass of water. Ok fine I'll just have some candy too, it's not that much. Can't wait to get home, this was such a long day! I deserve to get something delicious...no I shouldn't...but I deserve it!.....but I shouldn't...damnet, I ordered fast food and too much of it! Oh my god, I can't stop eating. This is so bad but so good! Oh crap I feel so guilty. My stomach hurts. I'll do better tomorrow....
And on and on I could go....this is diet culture at it's finest. It's not quite an eating disorder, but it sure is loud noise that follows you every day and every night making you feel guilty. Living in a state of fear instead of trust.

I believe that every body is different and every body is perfect. It is my focus to help clients get reacquainted with their bodies and their bodys' needs. For this reason, I do not promote "diets" as these are centered around external cues (food lists, portion sizes, forbidden foods, etc). This focus further takes each of us out of our own bodies.
I will work with you to help you rediscover your internal cues by guiding you through Intuitive Eating Principles so that you can begin to feel confident in your food and nutrition choices and be free from the diet culture. With this freedom you can discover an increased sense of self, body acceptance and self compassion.

Nutrition affects our mental health and our mental health affects our nutrition. I support your exploration of this connection so that you can better understand the relationship between your emotional and mental well being and your nutrition choices. I create space to help you figure our your true relationship with food and how this impacts all aspects of you.

Eating disorders are a form a coping that you developed in order to deal with something challenging in your life. I'm not here to hate on it or shame it, I'm hear to learn about it and understand it. I like to thank the eating disorder for helping in the ways that it did, which creates space for the healing to happen. There are many similarities between eating disorders and addiction, so I use similar tools and approaches for both. These include but are not limited to:
